Born This Way

Lady Gaga is back with her latest video....'Born This Way'.
Could have done without the multiple birthing shots...but I digress.

Very Madonna-esque the song is.

And just cause I love Alex Goot is his take on the song...

Best Oscar Moment: 2011

James Franco appeared bored and high and as a result Anne Hathaway over compensated by being way too Disney like.

And the Oscars just dragged on and on.

But there was one moment of 'now that was good'.

Luke Matheny winning for best film short - 'God Of Love'.

Loved his acceptance speech.

And Ricky Gervais...the Oscars so need you to inject some fun, life and sarcasm into their show.

30 day song challenge: day 13

Two 30 day song challenge posts today because I missed yesterday.

day 13 - a song that is a guilty pleasure: Nickelback 'Burn It to The Ground'

Yes. A. Song. By. Nickelback.

Don't look at me all weird....stop it!

Stop being judgy!

It's a good song....what can I say? Even for Nickelback.

30 day song challenge: day 12

day 12 - a song from a band you hate: Rush 'Tom Sawyer'

I know Rush is considered one of the greatest bands ever....but yeah I just don't like all.

Tweet Of The Week

@PeterGriffinn Dear MTV, I was wondering if I could get my "M" back..... you know, since you're not using it. Sincerely, _usic.

So awesome!

The Mountain Dew Effect

Motion City Studios contest entry for the 2011 MoFilm Barcelona Branding Competition.

So awesome.

Rolling In The Deep

Adele - she is so frickin talented.

'Rolling In The Deep'

30 day song challenge: day 11

day 11 - a song from your favorite band: Aerosmith 'Rag Doll'

Yes I know it's a favourite amongst strippers - but that aside, there is just something about this song that I have always loved.

Good Life

One Republic. 'Good Life'.

Brilliant song. Brilliant band.

Love these Nashville boys. And for the record they totally have that UK vibe to them - hence the reason to love them that much more.

Mona - Teenager

Mona - Listen To Your Love

Sleigh Bells

If you have that need to lease your inner rockstar chick.  Lyrics are an afterthought, just crank the speakers and master those rockstar poses.

Sleigh Bells 'Infinity Guitars'

Olin & The Moon

Love this track.

Olin & The Moon 'Not In Love'

30 day song challenge: day 10

day 10 - a song that makes you fall asleep:  It's a tie they are both great de-stress tracks that lull me to blissful sleep: Oasis 'Champagne Supernova' or Radiohead 'Optimistic'

Thursday, February 24, 2011

In that singer/songwriter vibe here is a very cool cover of 'Heartless' by Kanye West by William Fitzsimmons.

Bell Biv Devoe

So Bell Biv Devoe reunited last night on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'.

Cue squeals of delight. They may be 'old' now but at least they have their matching vests and some of their old dance moves. Word.

30 day song challenge: day 09

day 09 - a song that you can dance to:  Rihanna 'Please Don't Stop The Music'

This song gets me in the dancing mood every single time.

Now I'm no Rihanna on the dance floor by any stretch but I can hold my own in an impromptu kitchen dance off.

30 day song challenge: day 08

day 08 - a song that you know all the words to:  The Script 'Breakeven (Falling To Pieces)'

I was mildly obsessed with this song....played it non stop for like a month. It's a damn good song what can I say? And I love my boys from across the pond.

30 day song challenge: day 07

day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event:  Live 'Lightening Crashes'

Summer of 1995. A guy named Adam. And you can fill in the blanks.

Needless to say I can never listen to this song the same way again.

30 day song challenge: day 06

day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere:  Spin Doctors 'Two Princes'

Road trip to Boston. Me breaking the key in the car door lock at some random car stop in the middle of nowhere (Vermont I think). Waiting for hours for a replacement key from Roadside Assistance.  This was the song we listened to the entire time.

30 day song challenge: day 05

day 05 - a song that reminds you of someone:  Staind 'It's Been Awhile'

Reminds me of a boy. The rest is sworn to diary secrecy.

This song is all about the emotion. One of their best.

30 day song challenge: day 04

day 04 - a song that makes you sad:  Peter Gabriel 'Here Comes The Flood'

When you are emotionally drained - whether it's heartache or you're in a funk or depressed....this song makes you feel it all and then somehow makes you feel better. The power of music and one Mr. Gabriel.

First time this song really got to me was during an episode of Felicity. Damn that show.

Makes me cry every single time.

30 day song challenge: day 03

day 03: a song that makes you happy

Hands down the song that makes me happy every time is U2's 'Beautiful Day'...

Thursday, February 17, 2011

30 day song challenge: day 02

day 02 - your least favorite song? Miley Cyrus 'Party in the USA'

I loathe this song with everything in me...and the fact that there is a reggae cover version of this song (the fact that an artist thought it was worthy of a cover boggles my mind) makes me dislike it that much more.

And I'm not a total Miley hater either, I actually love her track 'The Climb'...

Il Volo Tenorini

The new trio of Italian tenors...Ignazio Boschetto, Piero Barone and Gianluca Ginoble. All teenagers (which will be hard to believe once you hear them sing).

Il Volo Tenorini.  They released their debut album in November (2010) and are now on an international tour.

First time we saw them was on the Italian TV show 'Ti Lascio Una Canzone' back in 2009....

Il Volo - O Solo Mio

Il Mondo

Atomic Tom

If you love everything about the 80s - you will LOVE this video.

Atomic Tom 'Don't You Want Me'

30 day music challenge

So I got hooked on this 30 day music challenge thanks to a music loving friend on Facebook.

For 30 days you answer one music question. Simple enough.

So I figured I'd do the same thing here...a blog entry every day for 30 days.

Day 01: Your favourite song

This one is an easy one. It's my official inner soundtrack.

I have been mildly obsessed with this song since the first day I heard it (it's on repeat a lot and I never tire of it)...

The Verve 'Bittersweet Symphony'
